Hi and welcome! My grandaughter has CP.She's aged 5 and is only mildly affected at the moment.Doctors cannot predict how she will fair later on in life.I recently emailedi immigration re this issue. My kids are all Australian,so I assumed there would be no problem. However the reply was that they take each case into careful consideration, even though my daughter is an aussie, does'nt make an iota of difference. They told me there would be no guarantee's my grandaughter would be given a visa, and that it would be based on a medical etc.I havent passed this on to my daughter yet,as at the moment she has no firm plans on returning to Oz to live.My own personal feeling is that based on each individual case, immigratin base their final decision on how independant the person is,how much care (if any)will they need and so on.My advice to you hon is to either ring/email immigration and state your case,or hire a migration agent who can help you further with this.Best of luck and hope it all works in your favour.

I agree that it is a case by case basis and it would be a good idea to seek some professional help before embarking on this journey and paying expensive visa fees.

However I would not take advice from immigration, the above seems to be a perfect example of them talking rubbish. It makes a massive difference that your children are citizens, they don't need to pass medicals.

You need to get advice from an agent that deals with medical conditions, they can do an assessment before you apply to decide if you would be able to pass the medical, as some have doctors that work for them that can work out cost implications to the Australian Taxpayer. Try George Lombard Or Ian Harrop - which are now part of Overseas Emigration.

Melza - your situation is different, you daughters child would likely be eligible for Citizenship by decent. If the children are not eligible for citizenship by decent (as your daughter was a citizen by decent) and have to apply for Child visas, because she is a Citizen there are waivers for this situation.

It is said many times on here ... never ask immigration for advice. Australia cannot refuse a citizen entry for any medical reason.
