hi all just a couple of questions..

I'm a brickie (nvq level 2) recently qualified, been labouring for 5 years, brickie for 1 self employed, I was wondering what works available in Perth at the moment as I'm not confident enough to build on my own yet is it fairly easy to find work with other brickies willing to show you the ropes and give a bit of guidance or is it possible to live on labouring wages? also the Mrs is a qualified teaching assistant and nursery nurse is it possible to find work for her in Perth?

cheers Jason

A lot of bricky job adverts ask for a minimum of 5 years WA experience but there are some who will give you a chance, the going rate is about $250 a day or about $180 for a labourer. Its tough going and your work has gotta be spot on but if you are a good bricky you shouldnt have a problem. where about are you looking?

iI think I'm going to stay with family in dianella near perth so anywhere near there but will obviously be looking to get a van/car when we get there, obviously being fairly newly qualified I've only built a couple of extensions mainly do pointing work etc so will prob be looking at labouring as there's not much work up north to gain the experience at the moment
