Red Hot Chili Pipers
Hi We are in the process of applying for our 189 visa, hoping to arrive around March 2014 in Melbourne . We have two young children, our youngest will be 3 years and 9 months when we arrive, her birthday is in June. I was wondering if anyone could please confirm for us if she will be eligible for kindie/nursery or school? Thanks
Alaska
[h=1]http://www.liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au/living-in-victoria/education-and-childcare/primary-schools[/h]All Victorian children aged between six and 17 must attend school. Grade ‘Prep’ (preparatory year) to Grade six attend primary school. Victorian secondary school is from Year seven to Year 12. To attend a government school in Victoria, your child must be five years of age by 30 April of the year they start school. Hopefully someone who lives there can confirm but that seems to be a government website.
Quoll
A child born in June won't be eligible for preschool until 2014 and first year of full time school in 2015. If you can get a preschool place of course - Victoria doesn't have universal free preschool access (yet?) so it will be user pays.
