kriscs1
Hi, My partner and I are looking to apply for a 189 visa. Our points are as follows: 25 points for being 24 20 points for IELTS 8 (hopefully) 15 points for a BA(Hons) =60 points I am currently in my NQT year of teaching and so currently only have four months in the job. Being a skilled visa, for which you must have "an occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list", what counts as "having an occupation"? How long must I have been in the job to apply? I know I can only get points once I have been in the job for at least three years but can I apply before then? I don't want to pay money for a skills assessment etc. and find I can't apply for two years, then find my skills assessment has expired. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Rupert
The visa does not have experience requirements, but your skills assessment might so you should look into that.
