Guest MikeOz
First post, but have used this site for a great source of advice over the last few months. I do now, however, need some on the ground advice about bunbury. It is one of our two options, the other near Adelaide. Bunbury was favourite as coastal and looks to have the lifestyle beaches, cycle ways, weather etc. However, when I've been checking the local news over the last weeks, it's either stories of stabbings, burglaries, or now armed robberies as today's web headline. I had hoped it was a one off but yet to see much positive news. Can anyone help on what the situation is like? Are these isolated incidents or something more? Thanks in advance. Guest Guest26012
Hi, and welcome to PIO! I have no idea about Adelaide but others will be along when they wake up. Bear in mind that news is sensationalism and although it may have truth in it it's usually blown out of proportion! We get news of stabbings in Brisbane and were a 5 hour flight from there! Not saying it doesn't happen, it does, oz is not crime free, it's the same the world over. Just keep it in perspective.
Guest MikeOz
Cheers madcow, yeah I'd generally take the news in perspective but putting the feelers out for people's views. I guess it's also heightened as our parents are trying to support the move and in doing so are researching the web and looking at the daily news, which seems to be a bit negative, as i refererred to in my opening post. We've pointed out that drinking a coffee on the beach, dolphins, parks, and, sunshine isn't news so need to balance that with the negatives. Just looking for some views really, assurances I guess, but any comments appreciated. Thanks, Mike.
