poutou
Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I have received an invitation for a 189 visa. I have a small question concerning the proofs needed for a "de facto" relationship. I have been with my girlfriend for five years. I we have been living together for 3 years. I was wondering how con I prove to DIAC that we are together? We have a joint bank account and we live together. Do I have to prove both? What is the proof that is required? Do you know of any other proof you know I will have to submit to DIAC? Thanks a lot for your answers! Take care.
Rupert
The best proof is of address, gather evidence of shared address over the three years. People go overboard with photos and wedding invites etc, thre is no need to go mad with these things it is address that is key. Don't send everything you have in, hold some back and then if you re asked for more you have something to send.
nycplanner
I would provide both the joint bank account statements and the shared address info (presumably a lease with both your names on it). That should be sufficient, but I would prepare additional documentation such as photos, shared travel itineraries, wedding invitations with both names, etc., in case you're asked for it.
