Mum of 5
Hi, I have tried to book my flights twice with a large well known company, whom I have seen recommendations for on here. However on both occasions the money has been taken from my account, but no tickets have been issued. 24hrs after my first attempt, I rang and was told my flight had not been booked due to 'a technical issue', and my money was refunded, and I was told to try again. So today I tried again. 12hrs later, the money has again been taken and no tickets have been issued. Has anyone else had this issue? And what did you do? I am getting really annoyed, as I want my flights booked so I can tell my kids that we are definetly going. Any/all advise and help welcome. ali
Ring the company and ask if you can book them over the phone or book via a travel agent or use another airline.
Mum of 5
As I'm flying from Dublin, I have to use 2 airlines to reach Perth, and booking direct with the different airlines costs quite a bit more than using the online travel agents/flight search engines. I have booked before through different companies, but never had this experience before. I have emailed the company, and am giving them a chance to rectify the issue, but if it's not sorted by tommorrow lunch, I will have to ring again, and speak to the customer service reps in India, and cancel the booking, which the last time I was told I couldn't do as no booking had been made. I will then go to the next best price for the exact same flights.

I like trailfinders in the UK and flight centre here, maybe give them a go instead.

Guest
I tend to book with the airline direct. Never use other sites or agents. Travel agent can be good but bit pricey.
Mum of 5
Thanks for all the advice I rang travel agent this morning, Guy I spoke to, spotted the problem and decided to deal with it rather than refund and let me book again to have same prob again. He spoke to his supervisor, and it turned out that the flights i was booking were BA from dub to london, and the malaysian the rest of the way. BA and malaysian don't have an 'agreement', so i couldn't book them all together, depite them being offered together. The nice guy then did a manual booking for me, and got back to me within an hour to confirm my flights were all booked and I had all my tickets ready to be printed. Not often you get a helpful customer service rep. He even left me laughing as I asked him his name and he spelled it 'M for mike, A for a55hole....' lebourvellec
We flow with Malaysia in September, they partner share with BMI, which are now BA. We had a carry on with our flights after BA took them over as the the times changed for our internal flight to LHR and instead of flying at 9am we had to fly at 6am, had ages to wait in London. Malaysia also managed to lose our buggy, which we handed them at the gate.
