Ali B
Hi scott and emma We've been in Melbourne 12 yrs and remember it all took ages when we applied. Patience is the name of the game. Australia is OBSESSIVE with red tape and paperwork. Slow and plodding. Try not to worry. )
skit78
Hi Ali B thanks for your reply, just seams it's taking so long and was getting worried as my meds have all come back as met and my wife's was referred some time ago and there may be a problem . But hopefully they will come back soon. Fingers crossed :0)
mattybe
4 months is rather a long time, looking at the other threads on referred medicals they were processing September/October and had rather a large backlog. I would drop your CO and maybe health strategies an email ask politely for a status update.
skit78
Hi mattybe thanks for you reply, Is there away of contacting my CO my self? we have an agent who's dealing with our case and the last 2/3 emails we have sent to her for a update we are told that theres nothing we can do now as it in there hands so it a waiting game. But as you say 4 months is quite long from looking at other timelines on this site. I will email my agent again and ask the same question but I don't want to annoy her by asking the same thing . Many thanks for your info
Ali B
Mine was processed quite quickly but my husband had MS in his family and his took longer to go through. But look, youre paying the agent for a service and they need to provide answers for you. Get back to them and ask for reassurance.
skit78
Hi your right I'm gonna email after new year as I think they are shut till then. My wife did have a operation 6months ago (approx ) this was a spinal cord implant opp with a Medtronic witch means she is out of the wheel chair and walking again :0) but this did not stop her working full time as a teacher, I only mention this as we was told Medtronic are a big company over their. Maybe this is why it's taking longer, anyway I'll keep you posted , all the best for the new year :0)
lebourvellec
Referred medicals are taking along time currently, and you need to remember that its Christmas and New Year, also it is the school summer holidays in Australia, which can slow things down more. Your wifes case may take a bit of time for the medical to be processed and she may need to provide more specialist reports if they were not provided at the medical. There is not much you can do but wait.
