vicandsteve
Hi all If i were to email a hospital directly and submit an EOI with them and get an offer of employment. How would this work, what visa would it be? I need a permenent residency visa straight away (so my fiance can apply to QLD police service). Can i gain PR visa this route? Please help im confused as thought my only option was to do the visa myself!
Joebloggs
I assume you are a Nurse? You can apply for ENS Permanent residency, but you need to be formally sponsored by the employer rather than just a job offer. I would say this route would be pretty rare, most nurses are sponsored on 457 which is not Permanent residency.
Kapri
With QLD health all you will get is a 457. Once you have a work record with them then they can sponsor you for PR. Some of the private hospitals will do ENS.

Most hospitals prefer to go for the temporary visa in the first instance. Once you have your visa you can contact hospitals about getting a job. ali
We applied for our own skilled independent visa and then contacted hospitals - now you may be directed to apply for existing jobs that are being advertised.
karen hughes
I am a nurse and am going to start looking for jobs via quensland health in January. I have already sorted the registration via ahpra. The 457 visa comes with the job so it will be the job forst then the visa will follow. The 457 allows your spouse to work unlimited hours (on your visa). The 457 gives you 4 years so plenty of time to apply for PR once you are there. This is my understanding of it anyway. Its all so complicated. Good luck x

Good luck x I believe that the OPs point was that she wants her OH to be able to join the police force and that he cannot if he were on a 457 visa, he needs a PR visa.
