poolmaniac747
Hi I am 34 years of age and my girlfriend has moved to Perth on a working visa...she is under 30. I'd like to join her and work in Oz for 1-2 years and think i might qualify as general skilled labour. The one sticking point though is the cost for getting a visa which is quite expensive. Has anyone got an advise on how i might be able to do this without having to pay a few thousand pounds for a visa? Many thanks and Merry Christmas:xmas23:
Guest
Sadly, I don't think there is a cheap option. Tradies very rarely get sponsored (which are the less expensive visas).

Labourers do not usually qualify for work related visas. Or did you mean you think you might qualify under "general skilled migration" or as a "skilled worker". I am not being pedantic, just trying to make sure I know exactly what you mean. What is your occupation? All permanent visas cost a few thousand. If you don't want to pay that then the only other thing you could do is try to find an employer to sponsor you on a 457 visa, but this is very hard and most people that think about it will be unsuccessful. boganbear
Go back in time 160 years and commit a crime. You can then stay for 7 years! Visas are expensive, as are most things in Australia so you need to get used to it.
