Darius Kedros
Does anyone know how stringent AQIS will be about bikes being shipped into Melbourne via sole use container. I've had all 4 of our bikes jet washed and there is no mud or dirt on them other than greasy old chains & cogs. Obviously the grease is a mixture of dirt & grease, so will the AQIS peeps be sending me a cleaning bill? Thanks in advance for any prior knowledge being shared here. rob dc
we shipped 3 bikes, all pressure washed and then chain lubed to stop rust, none of them were looked at, arrived in the same unopend package they left the uk in, the guys from the removal company who delivered them in AUS said normally they will slit the packaging over the tyre and if it is muddy they will open the package, if not they wont, ours wernt even looked at but i pressure washed them, then washed over in disinfectant then lubed, make sure you have done under the saddle and the bottom bracket etc, good luck

calNgary
Id be tempted to play safe and remove the chain and sprocket and soak them in some de-greaser. Customs do not like Grease and dirt and it wont be nice if you get slammed with an unexpected bill. You can buy de- greaser at any car accesories shop.
