Guest Gollywobbler
Hi all Frankly, I am shocked. Many of us have elderly parents who may or may not wish to/be able to join their children in Australia. But these parents often want to go to Oz for at least 6 months at a time. It is an excellent way to keep them in warm weather year-round, after all. Parents who are 70 or over are not eligible for the e-676 tourist-visa, because of the requirement for the Medical Certificate. Which leaves them completing Form 48R. Here is the new version of Form 48R. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/48r.pdf All 15 pages of it (no kidding) complete with the Third Degree. Read it and see what you think. KazzE
Thanks for this Gill I am in shock too, as you may remember, my father will be going to Oz in Nov this year and does not plan to come back to UK until Sept 07, and then go back by Dec 07, hopefully we will be there by then and he can start the parent application we had decided to apply for the usual tourist visa that gives multiple entry within one year, but this appears to say that is not possible as he will be just 70 when he travels. Oh poo, more forms to fill in BTW, we are almost neighbours, I live just outside Southampton take care Kazz
