Do all sparkies now need to do the vet and 12 month gap training? Hi there, if you are the main applicant for a PR visa then you have to have a vetassess assessment for migration purposes. If, like me , you are a secondary applicant then you can apply for an ARTC after you have arrived in Australia. If you already have an OTSR issued by vetassess then you will find it difficult to obtain an ARTC. It may be worth contacting PEER to see what the current situation is. My understanding is that with an OTSR you will have to complete on the job gap training whereas with an ARTC , you don't ( in SA only) Regards Derren Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Have heard of some people doing the ARTC after the vet route and just not telling them hi again, Yeah, going to Oz on an a WHV and applying for an ARTC, no problem. Used to be the case that you could apply for an ARTC after VETASSESS, but now it's stated in their applicant guidelines that you may or may not be issued with an ARTC after the VET route. You were , until recently, able to apply for an ARTC from the UK. You can't do that now. The goalposts are changing constantly, hence the conflicting advice.
