My DH got his Spousal Visa approval through today - woooohoooo! We are really going now.

Thanks to everyone for your support, and if anyone wants to go it alone (eg without an agent) for a Spousal Visa it is almost as quick and is very straight forward .... plus CHEAPER!

Cheers

Thanks everyone ... and to you too Sam for your help :-)

Lauren - we 'front loaded' the application (sent medicals with the application rather than waiting for them to request it), however my DHs medical's were wrongly sent to Oz! We ended up having to have them redone, and even with all that mucking around it was received by them on 18 December, and approved today (21 Jan) - and considering Xmas and NY were in the middle I would expect it would only normally take about 3 weeks!!!

I kept in touch with our CO the whole way, and I think that helped!

Good luck to those of you still waiting

Thanks Shell

He is having his medical this Thurs so it will just be the police check we wll be waiting for. Fingers crossed then that he will have his visa by the time we go.

Congratulations!!

We are just putting the final touches to my Hubby spouse visa (doing it ourselves) and just wondered about the medicals. We spoke to an agent who said that I didnt need a medical just hubby and kids although they are 9 & 4 so shouldn't need any. But when I was reading through the paperwork it refers that all dependants whether on visa or not require a medical.

Can anyone tell me what is correct?

Hi Mandy,

My children ages 1 and 4 didn't have to have medicals as they have their citizenship by descent, so it was just me on my spouse visa.

Hi Shell,

I am so glad for you Congratulations to you all, I know it is as stressful for the Other half as it is for the applicant as my Hubz has been like a cat on hot bricks.

We are using an agent ,as mine wasn't as stright forward as most applications. To me it was worth every penny we gave tham as they have been really good.

Heres to your new life in Oz
