Guest sharleen29 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hi Alliekate, no it was on the national geo channel, i found it quite funny. The aussies seem to hate the little buggers! I just read your post, i cant imagine how you felt when you saw it, im dreading all tose things!! xxx
Guest alliekate Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 You get used to it very quickly, I promise. The first time I saw a snake in our garden (don't know who was more shocked, him or me), I really freaked - but only because I couldn't identify him for about a week. That is the hard part - cos most of these creatures have harmless inncocent doubles. We have had to get rid of a lot of canies (300 last count) to protect our wildlife and our dog. Funny thing is, when a caney sees me coming now, it hops away faster than any rocket frog, so word must've got around that I mowered Baz, and am armed and dangerous. It all depends where you are in Oz, but I truly think that if you leave the wildlife to it, it stays well out of your way and you just live side by side, no worries.
calNgary Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 we live on acerage and thankfully havnt seen half the scarey creatures i thought i would,i think when you read up on them in the uk it scares you sooo much,,in reality you arent likely to find things hidding behind every door waiting to jump out at you, lol,in over a year ive never seen a redback, only a few smallish huntsmans, mmore frogs than toads and only one teeney weeney green snake,,dont panic it wont be as bad as you think Cal x
