Guest Gollywobbler Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Hi All I'm stuck. Peter (ptlabs) defo knows how to do what I want to do. Tim probably knows too, and some of the other IT gurus on here might be able to help. If you click "Quote" when you want to reply to a post, it quotes the whole of the original. post. If you click "Multi quote on" Lord knows what is supposed tpo happen but it didn't enable where I was trying to get to just now!!! What I want is this, please: I want to quote individual paragraphs from a post, one at a time. I want the quoted bit to appear in italics on the brown background, with my reply to that particular bit shown in ordinary "reply text" underneath. Then I want to quote another paragraph from the original post and repeat the exercise described above etc. There must be a quick and easy way to do this. ptlabs does it all the time. Can anyone provide idiot-proof instructions about how to do it, please? Many thanks Gill
Guest Tim Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Hi Gill, I only discovered the wonders of multiquotes recently. When their is a long list of posts to a thread and you want to quote on some of them, this is where the multiquote comes in. If you click on it on each post you want to quote it changes from off to on. After selecting as the posts you want to quote, hit the reply button and you should have all posts requested quoted individually. If you just want to highlight different statements in the same post. Just put the quote code around the indicvidual parts. I think is is Some text here Clear as mud. I will try posting another message to show how the multiquote works. Tim
