Setting up a business on a 137 Visa

Hi everyone,

 

Hope you all had a Christmas and New Year?

 

Since we got our visa approval in December, things have deteriorated at OH's work. His boss knew that migration was on the cards since 2006 and now has effectively blocked his chances of being able to get a transfer with his current company. Looks like he'll either have to jump or be pushed!!:arghh:

 

A very tangible possibility has come up where a contact OH has in Oz wants to use him as a contractor and is very willing for him to set up his own company so that he can start giving him business asap. OH's also considering making me a co-director of the company as this will help us financially. This was a bit leftfield for me and I'm now trying to do my research to see if this is a viable option for us on a 137 STNI visa.

 

I'd be really grateful to hear from anyone who has set up this type of business and what your thoughts are, how to start going about setting up etc
