Maruska Posted September 27, 2012 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Hi, we submitted our 176 application in June. We were assigned a CO within a month and were asked for Form 80. When we emailed DIAC recently to check on a progress of the application they replied that they are "awaiting a response from external agency". Logically, I made a conclusion that this "agency" is ASIO. My husband is originally from Lebanon. We both lived and traveled in HR countries including Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt. Also ?LR - Turkey, Malaysia, Thailand. We both have a US passport ( and the US immigration did an extensive background check before we moved here). Does anyone have a recent experience how long did the clearance take? Wonder if they contact the country of current citizenship (US) to get the required info or if they go on contacting all "suspicious" countries one by one? :arghh: We both have an AHPRA eligibility letter but we need to present to the AHPRA office befor August 1st 2013 to finalize our nursing registrations:frown:.
