problems with inlaws

well not a problem really , mother in law is id 50s and a fully qualified 30 plus years served nurse and lives with us, father in law came in october 2007 to aussie for 5 weeks and loves it mid 5s no qualifications but owns his own house, [ there long term divorced but freindly ] problem is before we start applications my wife only wants to continue if her parents can come to aussie to live with us , need any advice as to how this could be possible, i do property maintenance ,plumbing,drainage, decorating, flooring, plastering,drylining, all for 15 - 20 yrs on and off sometimes, had 7 years school in aussie age 10 to 17, but no qualifications as such appart from crane licences, willing to do crash courses in a few of the above jobs to get ticket, just need to get advice and get started, thanx neil:arghh:

If your mother in law is still working as a nurse then she could try and secure sponsorship with a hospital for herself, they're shouting out for nurses in Oz at the moment. If she isn't, she could do a back to nursing course in the UK to update herself. To apply for PR in nursing you have to have worked so many hours in the last 12 - 18 months (sorry can't remember which) and go through a skills assessment. She would have to apply to the nursing board of whichever state you want to live in to get her licence to practice.

 

There are also parent visas - Gollywobbler is our expert on these (and we've got a few members who are waiting), but it seems that these can be very expensive and also they dont' grant many per year (you also have to remember that it's not just people in the UK who are applying but people from all over the world).

thanx 4 help mother in law still practising so that will be a start, father in law is looking to start a buisness whit his house money so maybe that will work, ill keep reading on this site so usefull most things have been answered just knowing where to start
