Guest laura_barrett Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Hi there, Is any one else in the postion of the Defeacto visa. Me & my b/f have only just moved in together at my parents house. What sort of proof do we need to confirm we are eligable for defacto visa in a year's time. We have opened a joint back account and have a rent book... Any advise would be great Laura & Matt
ali Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Hi, The rent book is a great idea, also anything you do in joint names, holiday booking forms (if they go back longer than a year great), photo's. People get stat decs from friends etc., invitations you've received as a couple, photo's. My brother also included letters that he and his then girlfriend (wife now) had written to each other whilst she was in Oz and he was in UK, which showed that their relationship was a long one. Ali
Stuju Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Hi Laura & Matt, Ali has given you a good list of what to obtain to prove your relationship - but also you could include any flight tickets together joint club memberships cards to each other and to both of you from other peeps any receipts i.e.like if matt buys you jewellery or any thing that a special occasion anything like car insurance documents (even if out of date) if you are both insured for the same car life assurance papers if you are leaving your money to each other just chuck everything how ever small or odd it may seem into a box and if you do happen to use an agent for your visa they will sort through and pull out the best bits. We did all this on my spouse visa with no problems good luck gizmo
