We miss you too Brad. You have served your sentence my Son, so come on back whenever you can persuade the Pom to tag along as well. What will it take to convince her that we are not all like you. LOL.

Hi Brad - welcome to PIO

There are a few other Aussies on the site. Some are living in the UK while others are in Aust. We have a very friendly thread where we get together and discuss everything under the sun. Here is a link in case you want to check it out and say hello

I'm in a similar situation to you Brad. I grew up in Melbourne, went to uni on the Gold Coast and then came overseas (in early 2001) after I graduated to do some travelling. Met a girl from Sheffield in 2003 and the rest is history. I've been living in Sheffield permanently since Feb 2004. Now been married for nearly 7 years and have a son who will soon be 3.

The good news is that she's finally seen the light and wants to move to Australia. The plan is to head for Brisbane as that's when most of my immediate family live now. Now just gathering the things we need for her visa so we can apply for that. Hoping to be back in Aus by July 2013 at the lastest.

Keep up the pressure Brad and she'll come round to your way of thinking. It's only taken me the best part of 9 years and about 6 trips to Aus to persaude her.

That we are! Though not all women respond well to 'pressure' - but only you know yours!

Best of luck with it all.

My OH had to endure the UK for 13 years before I finally moved to Oz with him. Not sure what finally changed my mind - it was always there as a possiblity, but it wasn't until the begining of 2012 that I really felt ready to move. We had a holiday in Oz in April 2012 which reinforced my desire to move over then started putting our visa application together when we got back. I can only suggest having plenty of holidays showing her how great it is over there, but don't expect too much.
