Bound4Tassie
Hello, does anyone know how long you have after the rabies blood test to get your pet to Oz? I know if they have the test 5 months before, they spend 30 days in quarantine. But if they had the test 7, 9 12months before is that still ok or is there a cut off maximum time? Thanks
joeyje
As far as I remember they have to have their jab and levels 5-12 months before leaving to allow minimum quarrantine time. Less than 5 months increases quarrantine and over 12 would be too long and would have to have them again! Hope this helps!

JoandJon
AQIS says..... http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/cat-dogs/cat4?name=the%20United%20Kingdom Within 12 months of export - with at least 180 days from the blood test to being released from quarantine. If they've not been rabies vaccinated before then they recommend 4 weeks between the vaccine and the test (but it's a recommendation not a requirement).
