Guest AnnieE Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Hi Is there a time limit on transfer funds after your arrival in Aus? I rang the Aus Tax Office yesterday and they advised me there wasn't but I have a feeling I read something different on this thread. I also remember reading that you are liable for CGT on transfer of funds if the rate has increased since the day you arrived. Can anyone tell me what rate CGT is paid or recommend a good migration tax expert! Feeling really bogged down with all this stuff!:daydreaming:
Guest Liam Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Hi there is no limit on what you can transfer. But once over $5,000 to $10,000 you may have to give more details of where the funds have been sourced (this is for global anti-terrorism and anti-money laundering regulations). For tax related matters please contact Alan Collet at Go Matilda - Your Gateway to Australia - Visa, Tax and Financial Planning for Australia He is also a senior member on this site. regards Liam
Guest AnnieE Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Thanks Liam - I have contacted them and will hopefully get it sorted soon! Annie
