Guest The Greens Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I was wondering if any of you who have gone to Oz or who are going have ever done the same sort of thing as we did last night. (No not that!!) Tony’s birthday yesterday so last night we went for a romantic meal just the two of us. Started talking about life and reminiscing on things from our life, what we will miss most in a few weeks time when we have left. So we sort of said 10 things you will miss the most. Can you believe how two people differ. Any of you have these problems ? ME (Emmy) 1. Tony’s Mum Love her so much 2. Our House - The warm security I feel at home Comfort zone of all around me 3. My stepson Patrick (How ironic he live’s in Liverpool my home city) 4. Going back up to Liverpool to see all my family and friends every few months (You can take the girl out of Liverpool, but you’ll never take the scouse out of the girl) 5. Our local pub, - its a pub, restaurant, local find out everything place, and all the characters there, farm related mainly, all good honest people, and all the others 6. All our animals, especially my horse Cliffy 7. My Sister, who has lived with us now for about 5 years, I hope she will come to Oz soon. 8. Day’s out in London shopping (woman's prerogative) 9. Steve Wright in the afternoon. 10. Strictly Come Dancing each November  Tony 1. "Georgie Thompson on Sky Sports News" (The Bitch) 2. "Denise Nurse Sky Sports Weather girl" (What a Cow) 3. "Jeff Stelling and the lads on Gillett Soccer Saturday" (Sort of emotional really, reminds me of when I was a little girl, watching Jackanory) 4. "The crack with the lads at work winding them all up" (Boys will be boys) 5. "Local Rugby" (But your only coaching these days Old man) 6. "Going home to Ireland every few months to know what life is all about again". (Guinness and Smithicks on prescription) 7."Poets Day" (For those who don’t know Poet’s Day is P*** off early it’s Friday. Paid everyone, cleared the local builders merchant, dumped the truck in my yard, now off to refresh. 8. "4.30 - 5.00 on Saturday" when all the results come in, pint of best and a big log fire in the bar at the pub, Its wicked. 9."The Girl dancers on Strictly, I really like their dresses". (No girls he’s not a pervert really) 10. "My Mum and Patrick my Son just being able to see them and talk to them when ever" (Should be No 1 really but they’ll understand) " Oh but what about Cheltenham in March and Galway in August, I'll miss the racing loads and loads. Unbelievable, hard to imagine how 2 people can differ so much. So in short his life revolves around drinking, rugby, football, horse racing and lusting over other women. Great!! I think there’s a moral to the story girls, which we all know anyway, It would be a Man’s World, but Boys just never grow up Emmy

Can't believe the fantastic changes to the City, every time I go up there now, it's getting better and better. Luv the place, the shops the bars, the whole spirit. I imagine tonight there wil be great celebrations there with the City of Culture thing and all that. Are you a Blue or a Red. :biglaugh: Ta ra for now Kid, EMMY
Guest The Boultons Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Well, you've got me thinking...... Being able to pop 'round for a cuppa n goss to either my mates or my old mum.... Cuddles from my Dad (yes I am a self confessed daddy's girl) Girly nights out with old school friends Going to spend summer holidays down in Devon with Bill's family BUT I'm looking forward to a new adventure, making new friends, and a happy future for me and mine.....and I'm not going to miss, the weather, daily grind, council tax, and b****y traffic wardens who want to give me a ticket for parking outside my own home!

Guest Bag End Bunch Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Hi Emmy I with you on Strictly Come Dancing! I'm already pining away for Anton du Beke and Bruce Forsythe. I know they have Dancing with the Stars over there but it won't be the same  Alex
Guest The Greens Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Hi Emmy am a red , wot are you ... karen I'm a red through and through, but also Love Everton, cos me Da was a Blue and took me to my first ever game at Goodison, so I love seeing the Blues doing well. I worked at Goodison on match day's when I was still at school, sold many a Scouse pie!! And afterthe Hilsborough tradgedy, the city was so united I just love the blues now almost as much as the reds. But I worked in a salon and cut a few of the Liverpool player's hair going back a few years and became a Red, so my first loyalty is always Anfield bound. It's strange now being married to a Rugby man, (But he love's all sport) but Patrick my stepson, lives in Everton valley but is the most one sided Red fanatic you will ever find. Emmy :biglaugh:

Guest Curlysoo Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I know I will miss my son and daughter but they are all growed up now. But crossing fingers my daughter will move out when she has finished her nursing training! I dont know what else I will miss, I suppose I will find out when I get there. Missing people and places is normal I imagine, moving from the Wirral to down here in Chelmsford 2 and a half years ago has helped in a weird way, coz I have no family round me and have coped fine. I am trying hard NOT to list things i might miss just in case I do, does that make sense to anyone else?
