Hi my partner is 6 months into applying for a spouse visa to return home with me to live and work. We had thought that they would have made a decision by now and wondered if they are likely to interview us both.

I am considering taking some work that would require me to work abroad for weeks at a time which would make it difficult to come back at a moments notice and so don't know whether to take the work.

If there is anyone else has experience with applying for a spouse/interdependents visa and can comment I would be most grateful.

Cheers

How come its taken so long ?? my OH's ( im the Aussie ) took 8 weeks from start to finish,

my hubby got his Visa ( subclass 100 ) on the 18th December 07 it took 2 weeks for them to make a decision. Are you using a Vis aAgent or doing it urself?? We used an agent and i have to say it was alot easier and well worth the money.

Have you not been together for very long? Thats the only thing that i can think of that will hold up the process.

But good luck anyway .

We're doing it ourselves and an email they sent for some reason didn't arrive in his inbox so it was 8 weeks before we heard anything at all.

The doctor discovered an overactive thyroid and we have spent the last few months trying to get a diagnosis out of the NHS. Should have done that privately but it was over £400.

Anyway it's not life threatening or debilitating and now have all the medical stuff ready to send. We have been together 17 years so hopefully it will come back quickly when they get the diagnosis.

Thanks for your mail.
