DisillusionedScot
Ok, folks. Do you have along commute to work? Let's find out who has the longest daily commute in terms of time. Leave out exceptional days on the Kwinana or leaves on the train line. On average, how long is your commute and if it's very long what's your reasons for doing it - better house, cheaper rent, more land? I'll kick the ball rolling: my partner has a daily commute - Mandurah to Bently by train and bus. 1hr 25minutes
calNgary
My commute at rush hour is approximately 10 minutes ,, Hubbys daily commute is approximately 50 mins each way as he works on the Gold Coast. Cal x

RockDr
I walk, it takes 20-25min each way depending on the traffic lights, slightly longer if I can't cut across the park due to heavy rain.
landv
For me, it's 45 min in the morning as I'm just ahead of the rush hour, and about 1 hour on the way back.
Paul1Perth
Mines about 45 mins each way.
PositivePixie
Shouldn't say that mine is about 1.5 minutes then? It would be about 15 minutes if I could brave the dogs and walk. If it makes anyone feel any better though, it used to be between 1.5 and 2.5 hours each way when I was in the UK......(blooming M25 and M1)
Guest
Not that he does it anymore but I reckon my hubby did when we lived rural and he got a new job in Bristol. He'd leave at 5.30am to get to work for 9am and be home about 8-9pm in the evening. His daily commute was between 5-6 hours all up depending on if trains and buses ran on time. One night he didn't get home till gone 10pm having left at 5.30. We moved a few weeks later and he now has a 24 minute bike ride to work in the city. If he took the bus it would take over 45 minutes to do the same route. And that is if they run on time and all that. Often they'd be late or early, or simply not show up at all. Bob1
10 mins along Stirling Highway, 7 mins if the traffic lights are on green.
VERYSTORMY
About 4 hours door to door, but i am fifo and only have to do it once a week. Given its only once a week i am happy to live south where i get a lot more house for my money. I can probably trump most with my last job which was around 2.5 days

nicolac34
15 minutes door-to-door for me on the bus. Much better than what it was in the UK, commuted from Windsor to Chiswick along the M4, an hour in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening! Guest GeorgeD
I'm about 40-45 mins each way if I use the Clem7 tunnel ($4.05 each way toll) Add about 15-20 mins on top of that if I go through the city and avoid the toll.

Guest guest17301
I travel a lot in the course of my daily work but to actually reach my base office its only 20 mins. I used to travel 45 mins and that was bad enough. Im not a fan of the commute, its bad enough actually having to go to work never mind wasting precious hours getting there! blobby1000
One hour and thirty minutes by car (127km) each way five times a week....... That's the quickest the drive can ever be (due to the fact on an empty 3 lane highway a 62.5mph speed limit is considered sensible) It often takes me 2 hours each way......but if you want to live somewhere nice then you have to live a minimum of 127km from Epping (where I work!) Guest51810
My longest commute was a job in Polmadie glasgow. I had to walk up a very steep hill/brae at 5.40am for the first train to glasgow which tbh wasnt very safe! then the train to rutherglen and then a bus to polmadie and then a walk. this was all to be at a desk for 7.30am which only left me a few mins to spare. took ages to get there and back!
