bubbe2005
Hi Folks; I know it is not advisable to get your medicals done BEFORE your CO request them, but out of curiosity I have a few questions regarding medicals and x-ray. How long do the medicals last for? is it 12 months? who submits the medicals and xray results? yourself (the applicant) or the panel doctor? Will my OH also need to get medicals and x-rays done? Will our 18 month old daughter need to get medicals done also? How much did you pay to have your medicals/x-rays done? - assuming you are in good normal standing health (non smoker, no pre-existing health conditions etc...) Guest trasi
Hi yes, i believe they do last 12 mths, but may be wrong. x-rays and medicals etc are submitted by the panel doctor. Nobody in my family, except me, needed medicals, but i have heard on here where families do, i.e if your applying for PR, everyone needs a medical etc. When you get informed to do your medicals you are sent a list of recognised panel doctors....... you can choose from this list...... prices do vary..... i paid £310 at knightswood London for medical, xray, HIV, Hep B/C tests. Not everyone needs blood test, depends on visa and occupation. Obviously price would have been less without the bloods. xx

Delaneym
Are you talking about x ray or the whole medical which consists of other things apart from an xray? they are very strict about some aspects of the medical and it must be an approved place to have them. Will you need a medical? not everyone does.

Rupert
if we get our medicals done early can we tell the docs to hold off from sending the medicals until we are assigned a CO?? If you are going to do them early, which generally is not a good idea, then you might as well have them sent in, because they will still be dated. I assume the TRN number is the application number receipt when you submit your PR application, and when DIAC has acknowledged the application.
