I looked this up a few weeks back and I'm sure I found something on the aus immi site that suggested 3-4months for a child 101 visa (here: http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/5.0.htm)......but today I started to look at online at the paperwork and see it's currently 14 months :arghh: (here: http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/more-information.htm)

Baby is due in December, we had hoped to apply for visa asap after birth and move around April 2013. Do I have any other options other than to move now pre baby being born?

Who can I call to get a idea on the guide for current processing times, will australia house london help me or have i got to call aus??

A child born in Australia to a permanent resident is an Australian citizen by birth.

Wrussell - not sure what you mean by 'cannot have it both ways' it's possible to get a child visa after birth.

My question was really regarding the current offshore child visa processing times in the UK and if there are option like bridging visas, permission given for baby to enter on a temporary or tourist visa or if indeed that baby visas are commonly processed faster anyway (since they have less paperwork and checking than say an older student child almost 18)
