EOI Under Claiming Work Experience - How to claim less points for work experience?

Filling out EOI in new SkillSelect scheme, I am confused about providing employment history for the last 10 years. In employment section it asks to provide employment history for the last 10 years.

I have more than 8 years experience but I don't want to mention a job in it as I don't have any evidence for this job. My question is if I include this job, the skillselect automatically calculates its points and I read on DIAC website that you will be assessed against the points score you claimed and you need to provide the evidence for it. So I don't want to claim points based on this job. However the help in employment section states that we have to provide employment history for the last 10 years. Please help me what I should do, if I under claim the work experience and don't mention it, will I have any problem. I only want to claim 3years work experience instead of 8.

The help contains the following message about employment details:

Provide details of the client's employment history for the last 10 years.

Note: Any gaps which are periods when the client was not in employment cannot be counted as periods of skilled employment. This information should include pervious employment that is not related to the clients nominated occupation or skills assessment.

The 'end date' field in the client's current employment should be left blank. The client must update their Expression of Interest if their employment details change.

Hi Destination. I have a similar problem and am not sure what I'll do but if you select 'no' in the 'relevant work experience' section of that position it won't be counted.

Just to caveat that though - I'm not sure if that is the way to go as I guess that is lying on the EOI which is obviously a no no. That's why I'm not sure what to do.

gees thats a tough one! hopefully someone will guide you in the right direction. i cant give you any advice, but i know when i was filling out my forms (pre skillselect) I had to fill out my employment history for the last 10 years chronological order. and cant leave any gaps so if there was any periods of unemployment it had to be declared too. i personally wouldnt leave anything out.

I have a question regarding my case which is, I have positive assessment include more than six years of experience . One of those experience I do not want to mention it in both state sponsorship and EOI. Is it possible or it may affect my case.

As i saw in some forums they mention in this case i can mention it but choose not relevant in EOI. Even So what about state sponsorship so?

Please Advise

I was wondering, have any of you filled out the expression of interest form yet? When i completed my expression of interest it asks you to disclose employment information in the last 10 years, but as part of the form it asked if this was relevant work experience, so you can select yes or no.

I had to supply 10 years and i have over 8 years worth of experience in my field, but because i could not prove the early parts sufficiently, eg difficult to get job role and responsibilities, p60's, wage slips etc, i decided to put no next to relevant work experience for that job, but this wasn't a break in between jobs that were relevant, but a job i was employed in over 6 years ago.

Let me know if you have any questions as i have been through the process and may be able to help.

How to consider as what is the relevant experience? For example i assume out of 8 years of my total experience all the 8 years are relevant work experience whic DIAC might not agree to.

Or should we just use the Point test letter provided by Vetasses for assesing the employment

Thanks a lot N7kkp,

But I would like to make sure about one more thing , from about two years i have a negative assessment result from ACS and they mentioned in they refusal that i should meet 6 years of experience not 4 years at this time as they categorized me on Group B. However this before 1st July 2010 (new system of anzsco code ). So now if i consider one year as not relevant although it may be considered in my ACS is Ok or not?

One more thing about state sponsorship is it ok to pass my 6 years of experience or shall i pass just 5 years.

Regards :)

Tell me what's your opinion and what's your case now
