EOI!

Hi all.

I understand this EOI system is new (and confusing), but I have a query or two.

I keep seeing whilst trawling the interweb, that potential employers have access to the info supplied on the EOI.

Is this the case? if so, what are the benefits for us with them seeing it? Also, which site do they see the info on?

I am a metal fabricator, so if an employer in that trade is looking through the EOI's how can he find me through all the other professions?

Thanks.

Paul

Hi

Yes this is the case, employers can view the EOI's (I doubt all the information in our EOI).

The benefits would be that any employer struggling to find someone to fill a particular role could go onto Skill Select and view all those applying under that particular role, for example metal fabricators in your case or external auditors in my case. I guess this means that they could get in contact with you to let you know they had a position available. If they are that keen I suppose they could offer a sponsored visa 457.

I imagine employers will be able to search using the anszo(?) codes DIAC use for each occupation.

This is all guessing on my part though. I doubt anybody really knows as we are one month into the new system.

Hope that helps though

Kim

Hi Kim.

I imagine this would only work if employers know about skillselect!

I wonder if every company in Australia has had a formal letter from DIAC to tell them about this new exciting scheme! (sarcasm)

I bet if you asked any company in OZ about skillselect, they wouldn't know what you were on about.
