Do you all say"Thank You" to your CO at the end of the ride?

I was fortunate enough to get my visa approved yesterday, and I replied to the CO to say a big thank you for answering all my questions (there were many, all responded to within 24 hours!), and for progressing everything so efficiently and swiftly (175 visa, 3.5 months from application being lodged to being approved - last month of that was waiting on HOC).

I wasn't expecting any response as I know they are busy, but I did get one, sent after 5.30pm when CO's should already be gone for the day, which included a smiley face, and wishing me all the best for the future.

It just made me wonder how many thank you's these people actually get. They deliver SUCH important news to us, which in almost all cases means a huge and substantial change to our lives. So I would like to think they get a lot of thank you's....

Anyway, just a thought, hope you all do, as clearly, my CO seemed to appreciate it.

We had an agent so never got to know our CO, but yes it would be lovely if they received a thank you for their hard work.

Congratulations on the visa

I certainly intend to - who is yr CO??

I don't agree with posting CO's names, I don't see why you would even ask or what it matters to be honest. They have a right to not having their names posted on these websites, just like most of us choose to use nicknames on these forums instead of our full names.

But pleased you intend to say thank you!

I agree, I would refrain from posting any names on a public forum. If you want to give an indication as to the CO's name, then initials only is the 'done thing'

Hopefully when mine comes through I'll drop a quick thank you, it's only polite manners afterall, but it is their job afterall so won't be going OTT!

I remember we sent our case officer a big thank you as it s only good manner's, it is in my opinion the height of bad manner's not to.

We had a case officer who didnt really seem to want to comunicate with us at all but he left and Our new case officer has been superb, she really does seem to care about what she does and has responded to our questions in a very timely manner and has made the last few months a lot easier for us as we have been waiting for some time....we thanked her in an email when we got the Visa....

Congrats on getting your visa so quickly and best wishes with your move.

I do not have a CO yet but when I do I would most certainly say Thank You. I totally agree, it is the height of bad manners not to! When getting my qualifications and work experience assessed by AASW the woman was VERY helpful and bent over backwards to help me. So much so, that I sent her a thank you card. We (as in people) are very quick to moan/complain about what has not happened or what has went wrong and often do not acknowledge the hard work that people do actually do. Yes, she gets paid to do it BUT she went the extra mile in my opinion and I wanted her to know that she made another person's life easier and a small gesture of sending a card to say that was the least I could do for the support she offered me.
