Cooker in rental doesnt appear to be working properly

Hi,

the cooker in our rental doesnt appear to work properly, even following the instructions that I asked the agency for I cant seem to get it to heat up properly. The top is gas and thats fine, but the bottom is electric with the grill at the top, it never seems to heat up properly and seems to grill everything. Andno, I dont have the grill setting on. If I have it on the fan oven or just the bottom heating element its dreadful. Things take an age to cook and even on high fat just doesnt seem to sizzle. Any advice, can I ask the agency when it was last serviced. The owners have had the house about 10 years, I think the cooker is about that old

thanks

Cal

Do get in touch with the property managers, we had a problem with ours the force fan didn´t work and we reported it, actually said we weren´t worried about it because we had a small combination oven which is big enough for us 2 but they sent a guy round.

It is the owners responsibility to make sure it is working.

Yes contact the agents who should send someone round. Unless it was noted as being broken on the inventory when you first moved in, which I'm sure it wasn't, then they should sort it out.

The oven in our rental is not the best, have to cook everything in the oven at a low heat for twice as long. Looks about 100 yrs old!

you could get an oven thermometer to keep a check on the oven temp, can buy them for under $10.
