Guest Jcourtney7
Hi, i wonder if anyone can give us some advice please? My partner and I are desperate to move out to Narangba, Brisbane with family friends ASAP. I am 28 and my partner is 31. We looked at the WHV option but my partner is too old for this. He is a fireman and i am a business analyst. We didnt want to have to go through the whole EOI application as it seems to take months with no definite visa at the end of it (although this may end up being our only option). We looked at me going out on a WHV and him a holiday Visa (where he wont be able to be employed over there) and applying for employer sponsorship from within. Can anyone plese give us some guidance at best options for us please Thanks xx
lebourvellec
Welcome to PIO. You would need to be an Australian Citizen or PR to be able to join Fire Service in Australia - I do not think they sponsor overseas applicants. To be able to gain sponsorship you still need your occupation to be on SOL 1 or CSOL. I dont know if your occupation is one that is available? If you do go over with you on a WHV and partner on Visitors visa - you would need to show he has funds to support him self for the year without working, also his visa will likely come with a condition that will not allow him to apply for another visa onshore in Australia - No Further Stay.
