Confusion over IELTS modules

I am a Secondary School Teacher (Biology & Science), planning to submit my EOI.

But, I am confused over the type of modules I need to sit for in IELTS.

AITSL needs an Academic (IELTS) score of minimum 7.0 in each segment. DIAC notifies that it needs IELTS (GT) for the EOI.

I am confused if I need to go out for both the modules !!!

Guys, can you please suggest me a way out of this !!!

I believe any of the module serves the basic purpose as IELTS basically assesses proficiency in English Language !!

Urgent help is whole-heartedly welcomed. :ssign16:

Hi

As you are a secondary teacher you may not need to have IELTS for the AITSL

under section H of the form Evidence of English Language Proficiency

part a says completed at least one full year of full time higher educationlevel study for an initial teacher education qualifications in variouscountries including the UK

So if you have a PGCE that should be fine?

Thanx, Acar.

Actually, I'm from India and done all my education in India. So, I have to go for IELTS. AITSL asks for IELTS (Academic) with 7.0 minimum in each segment, for assessment of educational qualifications earned.

Thanx, Labourvellec.

The Skillselect page of DIAC suggests need of IELTS (GT) for submission of EOI !!!

Am confused, can you pls confirm if DIAC would accept the Academic socre instead of the suggested GT score?

Labourvellec is correct. DIAC does only require the General test, but it means that they accept both.

The way that DIAC has formulated does leave a bit confusion and I had a chat with them regarding this topic and got it confirmed.

Thanx Perthsunshine, for the confirmation.

I really found it strange and confusing that 2 different agencies ask scores for 2 different modules of the same test (IELTS)... and, most importantly, both the modules assesses the samething, the proficiency of English as a language.

Thanx for clarifying the same.
