burmtra
Hi, I am viewing the details for the 190 visa (http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-190/) and I can see it says that the points requirement is 60 points. Does anyone know whether this means 60 points inclusive of the 5 points issued by the state once they offer sponsorship. Ie. do you now need only 60 points inclusive of the 5 points awarded by the state (which would differ from the 65 required for the old State sponsored visa..) ? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Liam

Thanks Liam Once you claim 55 points, you are eligible for submitting the 190 visa on EOI. The EOI system will claim 60 points including the state sponsorship points. When state sponsorship is approved, EOI invitation would be sent out so that you can elodge the further visa application.
DtoP
Hi Can someone through some light on this. I have fulfilled 2 years Australian Study requirement except the study is not related to my nominated occupation. Should I claim 5 points or not. If I do not claim point for this will it be a problem? I am going to submit EOI and I will apply under 190 visa category. Without this point I will have 55 points which will serve my purpose. I am wondering if they award 5 points for my Australian Study will it be a problem, even if I do not claim this point for the reason explained above. But I'm not the best person to ask this kind of info from:sad:
