Guest Tamjb
Hello. We obtained our PR176 visas state sponsored for WA last year. We visited Perth in May/June this year to validate our visas. As lovely as Perth is, and we had a real good look around at loads of areas, we feel we would be bored as a family. At the time of our application, QLD were not taking in my husband's trade (mechanic) which is why we researched & opted for WA. My brother lives in Brisbane & we have a few friends currently living there (all PR) & feel this would make it easier to settle. There are jobs available to my husband too. At the mo it is still a big IF as to whether or not we will move but just wondered if anyone else had moved to a state other than the one they were sponsored by (and don't mean moving to sponsoring state for first 2 years then moving on). We understand you are only morally obliged to live in the state that initally sponsors you and as long as you inform the government of your intentions to live in a different state and your reasons for this (e.g family, job offer etc) it's ok to do?? Thanks.
Rupert
Oh not another one of these threads. You already know the rules ... why are you asking the forum whether it is ok or not.
lebourvellec
You already know its a moral obligation - why are you asking the question - there are loads of threads discussing this on PIO - do a search fro them. This topic stirs up alot of heated deabates.
Guest Tamjb
I'm not asking the forum if it is ok or not, I'm asking if anyone else has actually gone through this. If the thread is not your cup of tea, skip past it. As advised by our migration agent & in the docs we signed, the agreement was a 'moral obligation' & didn't suggest you would be hanged if you didn't stick to it without advising/seeking approval from the government first. Try emailing WA goverment see what they say then.
Guest Tamjb
I was asking if anyone else had already gone through this, that's all?? I thought this was a place where you could seek opinions/advice from other people's experience? I wpould ask WA if or when we decided to move. Thanks. hi, you can move anywhere once you got your 176 visa. you already know that its moral obligation. But if you have opportunity in other state, you can move. There is no restriction for you to stay in particular state. Even if you don't want to inform the state of your moving, you are not breaking any law. So, be happy and live and work where you feel comfortable. There are some other visa types where there is restriction to live and work on the particular state or region..
