Missus B
Most of the ones I got full container quotes came in around £4000. Where on earth are you getting your quotes from? There's a wealth of recent information and threads on here, giving the average quotes at £3-4k.

Love Shoes
We paid €4.500 for a 30 c ft container shipped from Spain to Brisbane, we then paid $2.700 for shipping agent including custom fees / taxes. It sounds as if you are either taking a huge amount of stuff or are just being charged way too much. Get at least 3 quotes, we only got one because we were happy and to be honest thought we were mishearing things as we had expected it to be much higher, that included pack and wrap, and they wrapped everything to an inch of it´s life. Good luck, before I go I will say it is worth shipping as the cost of buying everything again is costly, we had to buy two sofa´s because I felt that ours might not have made it through AQIS (it was leather and there were a few marks on it, silly for buying a cream sofa with 2 dogs and a messy husband) so we had to buy 2 more one cost $4.000 and the other $2.500 and beds are quite expensive too. If you want prices of stuff just PM me and I will see if I can get prices or know prices, it will give you an idea, but personally I would ship but not with the company who have quoted you so much, I am always harping on about ´ship, ship, ship´, because replacing items we have either sold on eBay or given away costs a lot of money
Candygirl
hi thks i am going from spain so it should be cheaper. all to expensive average 8k thks I have had quotes from both Spain and the UK for everything (including the dogs) and all the quotes from the UK have been cheaper than going from here in Spain. I have provisionally decided on a company for shipping mainly because their quote was competitive but also because they are near my Mum in the UK, but they have said to me if I could ship from the UK, then to do it. They offer both destinations, but have said it is far easier to have things leaving from the UK because of the paperwork. I don't how true this is, but it could be something to bear in mind. As like me, you will know that the paperwork and efficiency in Spain can be frustrating. There are a couple of people on here who are already in Aus who left from Spain. Hopefully, they will be along to offer an insight into their experiences. Good Luck.

Candygirl
plan all changed taking clothes and so on buying all there everybody says it expensive but hey guys we have ebay.au gumtree.au ikea.au and so on so less hastle less fuss taking our bodies and buying all there......................................... good luck to everybody going never know we can meet up and chat over there x I have been looking at one way van rental hire from Spain to the UK. It seems cheaper to get us two, our two dogs and our bits and pieces back to the UK in a van and then get an agent to transport our items from the UK to Aus. Cheapest quote I had for shipping from here was almost €7000 for a 20ft container. Dogs were €5990. The van to get us all over is €1200. From the UK we have quote for container £2500 and the dogs £2500 for both, so is definitely working out cheaper. Flights for us from UK to Brisbane are much cheaper as well than Madrid to Brisbane. We want to go back to the UK to say goodbye to friends and family and sort out financial matters anywhere. Might be something for you to think about. Tiamilo
Is the price you have been quoted for all the extra for the vehicles if so then they are probabably right as the other quotes will be just for a 40ft with household good.
