deanthebrickie
had the removers in to assess our stuff and they suggested not taking our Sony tv as it may not work. I have contacted Sony uk who also advise not to take abroad and can't guarantee it working. Anyone out there taken their tv (its only 2 years old) and its worked? StevieF8
It will work! The inbuilt freeview may not pick up Oz Freeview, try running the autotune when you get there, it might pick up the Freeview Channels, but you can plug it in to the aerial for Free-to-Air Oz TV......or plug it in to Foxtel for the Oz version of Sky

We brought ours over, a Sony smart TV, LCD thingy, its only 18 months old now. It has a built in digibox and it all works fine, just plugged it straight into the aerial socket on the wall. deanthebrickie
excellent, good to hear. it cost us £800 so didn't want to sell it for a fraction of the price. Seems removals and Sony don't always know their stuff. Perhaps its just a ploy by Sony to buy more of their tv.s
Guest SingleVic
I am moving over in 3 weeks and I paid £550 for my Sony BRAVIA 32" built in Freeview Digital internet TV I need to know that it will work and that it is worth shipping as I will not get half what it is worth if I sell it best idea is to keep if it works and get a few years of use out of it to make it pay for itself - but will it work ? still a bit nervous that it will not ? thanks for any tips and information

As for worth shipping, only you can answer that.
Joob joobs
The two tvs we brought over were Sony's and they work no problems with a T-Box.
Guest Kelvo
Not sure how true it is, but by selecting Germany in the country section of the digital tuner menu (NOT in the language menu) will allow Aussie digital to work. Could be rubbish, but I will be trying this out once we (and out TV's) arrive!
