LA Clipper
Hi, Having just made the move (this weekend) to Sydney (from the UK,) we are now looking at rental property options... The trouble is - we've not got all that much in the way of official ID documentation. (Although, enough to have secured 457 Visa approval.) Does anyone have any advice on how best to meet the 100 Point ID check? We have Passports, I have a UK driving licence, but we don't have anything else that seems to appear on the real estate websites. Will they accept things like our UK debit and credit cards towards this? Any advice is appreciated.
Paul B
Just been through this, payslips will help (Australian though) and definatly a letter confirming your employment as a minimum. I managed to use my employer as a reference but argued their other requirements as i had just arrived. I was told that the 100 points thing was mostly to scare off the deadbeats and didnt always matter too much but that varied massivly between different agents. Some asked for a separate application for each person living there (just me in this case.) Also, an Aus bank account helps.

sunniecat
We provided passport and drivers license photocopies, along with confirmation of employment and bank statements. We also had two letters from previous landlords as references. That seemed to be okay with the agents here (in Canberra).
LA Clipper
Thanks all, We actually went into an ANZ bank branch today to open a joint account, and the lady mentioned she needed things for our 100 Point check... this only involved our British passports and the letter they sent to us when we opened initial separate accounts. Odd. Hopefully it isn't too much of a hassle, viewing multiple properties tomorrow!
