Ideas and Advice Wanted

Hi, myself and my partner are currently living in NZ on working holiday visas and are really keen to get back to oz. Im 30 he is 27.

I have 10 years Experience as a corporate exec assistant and he is a carpet fitter with experience in Oz and UK, but no certifications as such.

What can we do to improve our skills? Office manager is on the list I think, which is a near match to what i do but not my job title, but we cant see anything about carpet fitters.

We are willing to retrain but are seeing that the costs to study in oz are expensive and im not sure if it could help us anyway as we will bw newly qualified and not experienced.

Any advice is appreciated as we are not getting anywhere.

I am also about to embark on my 2nd year of open univeristy - i would like to retrain as a priomary school teacher but not sure i can transfer my credits? and also again - its expensive and not job guarunteed!!

help!!

Welcome to PIO

You should speak to a Registered Migration agent regarding best way to Australia. Office Manager is no longer on the SOL or CSOL.

To teach in Australia - you require 4 years of University education with 1 year as PGCE. You need to have a certian amount of supervised teaching practice. Primary Teaching is on CSOL which requires State Nomination - not all states sponsor Primary teachers - also with Australian Teaching graduates struggling to find work it may be an occupation which may be more difficult to emigrate with in the future.

Have a look at Project-Programme administrator, or try to get a company to sponsor you.
