nubi0103
Hi all, We are on the process of putting our application together for the ENS subclass 186 visa. Just wondering when is the best time to do our health check. Is it before lodge the application OR after lodge the application OR only when the case officer ask to do so. Thank you very much for your time
Tickled Pink
If you are applying onshore (we are) you need to have all your checks (police/med) ready to load at the time of the application. The guidelines stating this can be found in booklet 5 on the immi website. If you are applying off shore, you can wait until they are requested. Here's the relevant paragraph from the booklet, hope that helps: If you are outside Australia when you apply for your visa, forms for your medical examination, together with directions to listed doctors, will be provided by staff processing your migration application. If you are pregnant, you are advised not to be x-rayed until after the birth of your baby, meaning that your application may not be fi nished until then. Alternatively, although not preferred by the Australian Government, you may care to discuss with your radiologist the use of a lead shielded x-ray. If you are in Australia when you apply for your visa, you should arrange to have the medical examination and any associated tests completed before the visa application(s) are lodged. The necessary forms (26 and 160) are available from the department’s website www.immi.gov.au/allforms/

bonza2211
Since the basis of the ENS186 Transition Scheme is for individuals already in Australia for 2 years on the 457 I would have imagined they waive the medical test as it is an almost identical set of test if im not mistaken. Anyway it's good Im aware that for my onshore application I need everything upfront (PCC being the issue)
Tickled Pink
The UK PCC was really quick. We sent ours off and got it back almost exactly 3 weeks later. Maybe slightly more delayed for people that have 1000's of convictions though! I maybe wrong, as we're doing the direct entry stream so haven't been here 2 years, but I thought anyone going from a temp visa to a pr visa will need to undertake a medical. bigjohn
I did that before visa application. I think you have to do it before when you apply onshore. but I have not submitted my visa application yet, because the nom still in status of "application received". it alread taken 4 weeks since my enployer submitted online at 29th of Aug. thinking if I should ring them.
