nubi0103
Hi all, Just a quick question about my case. I lodged my Partner visa (subclass 820) on March 2012 and got granted on April 2012. Part of letter received from DIAC, I have been advised that I have to wait for 2 years to be granted PR (subclass 801). I'm just wondering anyone know, at the end of 2 years, what will happen? What sort of things or documents that DIAC will require? Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you for your time
Rupert
You got a partner visa in a month? Wow. Do you know why? To your question, you will be contacted by DIAC shortly before the two years is up, be prepared to prove your relationship is continuing.
Guest GeorgeD
Hi all, Just a quick question about my case. I lodged my Partner visa (subclass 820) on March 2012 and got granted on April 2012. Part of letter received from DIAC, I have been advised that I have to wait for 2 years to be granted PR (subclass 801). I'm just wondering anyone know, at the end of 2 years, what will happen? What sort of things or documents that DIAC will require? Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you for your time Contact tehm about 20-22 months after you applied originally (not from when it was granted). Make sure they have your correct address....they will send out the relevant forms to you. When I contacted them they had already sent teh forms out to an old address...they sent them out after 21 months, not 22 as they said in the grant email. You basically have to do a police check fior any country you hacve lived in for 12 months since the last application (in my case, Oz) No medical. A stat Dec for you and your spouse, and contact details for 2 people who will vouch for you if they want confirmation (they don't request Stat Decs at this stage, unlike the first application.) The forms don't ask for any further evidence at all. I sent my second stage paperwork off at the end of April. If they need evidence, I'm sure they will ask for it. A guy in my office did his in October last year and he didn't need to provide any evidence. If anything has changed, like a new passport or a name change, etc. Then you need to provide evidence of that (a copy of passport for example) My wife became an Aussie and got an Australian passport, so we sent that. No medical was required.
