school fees on 457 visa

hi everyone,

I thought i had done the hard bit... ive got myself acreddited, found a job who will sponsor, in regional Victoria, Warragul to be precise and now the visa......

looking to move with husband and 4 kids (eventually) once ive found my feet, so working holiday visa is no good. The 457 visa seems like the one to go for until we heard rumours of school fees- upto $8000 ($16000 as we have 2 that will need to go to school as soon as we arrive) is this the case?

i was under the impression that there were no school fees to pay in Victoria just a voluntary contribution which is fair enough.

i would be so grateful if someone would enlighten me as we can't afford that kind of money up front and this could put everything on hold unless we can get regional sponsorship but what are the processing times for this?

starting to loose my nerve now..

Not as far as I know unless it's recently changed. It's only ACT and NSW.

We are in QLD and no 457 school fees here.

Have a look on google for some official information as it's definitely out there as we checked this before accepting any job.

You don't pay school fees on 457 in victoria, you just need to pay for books, uniform, pens etc, each school has different fees for this! High schools are more expensive the 1st year cost us $3000.00 that was for all the books & uniform. Primary school cost us $250.00 for the year, but like I said each school has different policy!
