Guest robholliday85
Hi Everyone Ive been living in melbourne now for about 9 months on a working holiday visa had a few ups and downs as im sure we all do when you make the move over here. getting used to those little differences etc. Im a solid plasterer by trade and one of the companies ive recently been sub contracting for has said if i find out the what the fees are and requirements they'd be happy to sponsor me so i can keep working for them. the owner of the company has told me to come to the office next week for a discussion about it. can anyone tell me what infomation i need to give him and what he needs to know and do. also what its going to cost me and what its going to cost him. any help would be appreciated regards, Rob
FOL
HibRob, Check the skillselect section at immi.gov.au you should probably look for ENS or RSMS. I don't know the details as we disn't take this route
surflen22
First of all, you'll need to find out if your occupation is on this: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule1-2.pdf Take a look at page 3! Then take a look here http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-186/ I think the visa costs $3060. When I approached my employers, I printed out copies of the fact sheets and presented along with a mini overview that detailed the various stages along with the total costs. Bear in mind that your employers will also need to nominate a position. Details are in the Employers tab of the previous link.

Rupert
great advise thanks, will check it out sorry for the late reply internet barely exists in caroline springs. is it usual for employers to pay for the visa? thanks rob I think many people pay for their own visa, with the company just paying for the "nomination" part. Note that the visa above is the permanent employer sponsored, which would be my preference too, but there is the cheaper temporary employer sponsored visa to consider as well.
