Hi

I am leaving for aus tuesday, going via travelling in asia which now seems a silly idea, as packed all our things and have 30kg luggage allowance. Anyway cases weigh a ton and are huge, so i think we need to look at shipping some of the less needed clothes seperate to our trip as we are taking multiple planes in asia, and trains so cannot afford excess charges on 5 different flights!

any companies can reccomend? and what sort of price would i be looking at for roughly 15-20kg of clothes. Will it take 8 weeks or so to reach us? (I might just struggle on).

thanks

Nikki

I have just contacted seven seas and got a quote for boxes to send not sure if its ok to post link on here! Others seemed to have used them so I might well use them as it seems the best option for me. take a look at their web site :D

You can do the excess with a baggage handling company. They specialise in excess luggage not taken on the flight. They usually arrive within a week or so though.

Seven Seas are generally good also. Check their website.

We sent our over-weight bags with Excess Baggage at the airport (were just a tad over our allowance. By about 40kg. Opps! :P). Apart from the girl at the check in counter for Excess Baggage being a completely rude stroppy cow, it was ever so easy, was a load cheaper than we thought it would be and got to Oz in about 4 working days I seem to remember (we left Tues, we landed Thursday, it arrived on the Monday). We just went to the Excess Baggage counter after we had checked in our actual luggage, filled in their form and anoher set of AQIS forms, and off it went. I would so recommend opting for the delivery option though, as picking it up from Perth Airport was a little stressful as no-one seemed to know where we went or what happened (after we worked it out though, it was rather easy again, just a little time consuming as you have to go to each import building and get paperwork signed off etc), so having it delivered to you from the airport would have been about 3000 times easier.

HTH a bit.
