steveNem
We didnt get any extra allowance because hubby was on a spouse visa. But I would recommend you consider sending a few boxes in advance or just as you leave. We sent three boxes with PSS for £300 and they arrived the day before we did and we would be lost without the extra clothing and child booster seat. Singapore Airlines wanted to charge us £300 for an extra 9kg with PSS we got around 66kg for the same price.
Guest wardie77
You can book additional bags on with Qantas within 7 days of your departure date. This can be done through the manage your booking section. An additional bag up to 23kgs is AUD90.
Guest
Don't you have to book their migrant fare or something to get it? Its slightly different IIRC. FWIW though, if you've bought their normal one way they now do excess baggage of a 23kg bag at something like $95 I'd contact Qantas direct and see what they say. Give them your flight info, visa type etc and see what they say.
Guest
Here you go, second post in the thread explains it well http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/flights-holidays/145057-migrant-fares-baggage-allowance.html
Guest themanns
We flew with singapore airlines and they are VERY generous.. we were entitiled to 80 kgs but we had 150kgs and they let us through! My advise is to check in last and then they know what is on the plane if you think you are over.. If they don't let it on you can check it in to the excess baggage people and send it air with them.. look on their website excessbaggage
fosseboy
Our agent Trailfinders has said that they can arrange a Migrant baggage allowance with some airlines......and had good tips on booking "open return" tickets as singles are expensive
