Guest simrie40
I have recently arrived in Melbourne with my wife a 2 daughters coming out in about 4 weeks. My girls are 8 and 5. Whilst all our belongings are being shipped over we will be staying with my wife's sister in Brighton and start looking for a house to initially rent. We are expecting all our stuff to arrive early October. Brighton is a touch too expensive for us to consider living there permanently so we are pretty keen on a couple of suburbs a bit further out. My concern is getting my daughters into school. If all goes to plan we will have a house to rent in October but obviously in the meantime I doubt whether any schools will accept us with no tenancy agreement/proof of residence to show them? Don't particularly want my girls not going to school until October! Any suggestions/advice greatly appreciated.

calNgary
Could you use your sisters address for now , explain to the school its a temp address and you will be getting your own place soon and will inform them of new address ASAP. this is what myself and few other familys did when we arrived and we had no issues. DBC
Not sure if you're planning on sending your girls to a private school or not but Mentone has some lovely schools and is next door to Beaumaris. It's also a lovely place to live.
