mogukuk
I may have a chance of a job in Wyndham. It is way up north of WA and pretty remote. It would be nice to be in touch with somebody up that way, kununurra or Broome.
flag of convenience
My other half is working near by in Derby. She enjoys the nature very much but the work is intense so not much time for social life. Wyndham is very remote but depending on conditions worth doing I'd say. Make sure you do the Gibbs Rd if you do get up there. Not that far to the NT either. Bobj
I may have a chance of a job in Wyndham. It is way up north of WA and pretty remote. It would be nice to be in touch with somebody up that way, kununurra or Broome. Used to work there on quite a few occasions in the 60s and 70s when it was a good, but excessively hot town. But it has slowly deteriorated in the intervening years to the point that I would not advise anyone to start their new life in Australia in that place. It has the dubious record of over 300 consecutive days over 90 deg F due to The Bastion, an ironstone hill brooding immediately behind the town. Wyndham is stretched twixt the hill and the mangroves along the edge of Cambridge Gulf and comprises the Six Mile, Three Mile, Town and Port... Cheers, Bobj. PS. If you can get work at Kununurra, it is far better for 'newchums'
