Guest GeorgeD
There are a few big ones like PetPlan, Petsure, the RSPCA, Medibank, etc. Pretty much all of them are underwritten by one of two companies (Hollard Insurance or Allianz) so the terms and premiums are all much of a muchness. There might be a few tweaks here and there which may benefit you more depending on the breed of pet you have if they are more prone to certain types of illness or injury for example. It might be worthwhile finding a vet you like and see if they can make any recommendations. Sometimes they can give offers, or at least they can advise who they find it easiest to deal with. Others like RACQ link pet insurance to home insurance, so you can get basic cover but you risk putting your home insurance premiums up if you claim. JoandJon
Hi Tina, I've been looking for which one we use but can't find the brochure - I'm pretty sure it's prosure though. Get in touch with your UK vet as well though, they'll need to provide a medical history for the pups for your first claim
Tinaandco
Hi Jo, I got a print out from our UK vet before we left and it lists every single time they attended the vet and all treatment etc, so you think the name of your insurance company is Prosure then ? My friend is with RSCPA but it's nice to get other peoples views thanks Tina x
IrishDigger
As GeorgeD says, they are all underwritten by Hollard Insurance. I priced them all as quoted by GeorgeD and went for PetSecure.
JoandJon
Yeah pretty sure it's prosure - from what my friend the vet (Perry - he's brilliant) said, they're all about the same, except there's one that has a much more complicated form for the vets to fill out. But he couldn't remember which company that was!!!!!! As a result I just went for a lucky dip out of the ones that were all around the same price
Guest Shell15
Can anyone recommend an insurance company to insure our pooch for his journey over to Oz from the UK.. there only seems to be one called 'Pet Migration' .. there has to be more surely!? JoandJon
Don't be misled by trying to insure your dog for the whole process - if you read the fine print it won't cover them in quarantine in any case, and you may find that your existing policy MIGHT already cover you for the journey.... Guest Shell15
Ok thank you I will check it out. I was hoping more to cover the full cost of actually flying him out there, such an expensive process if god forbid, something was too happen.
