Guest jimnkatie
Hi, Has anybody used white & co removals. We have had quotes from pss, pickfords, john mason & white & co, they come out miles ahead in my book. The rep was superb he seemed to really know his stuff and answered any questions i needed to ask. (same questions asked to all reps). he put my mind at rest and made me feel comfortable with the whole procedure. When the quote arrived just 2 days later i was pleased with the price for a sole use 20ft container. Not the cheapest but felt most comfortable with them. I will ask if there is any movement on the price fingers crossed on that one. Any comments on them please. Thanks Jim..

Guest aphex2k
They came and spent 2 days with us last week and packed up our stuff. Great guys, very speedy and cheaper than the rest. Plus they are local to us based up the road in Telford. Currently in storage while our VISA comes through.

allyd75
We have used Whites and wished we hadn't. Paid them 3 weeks ago when they came for our things and it was supposed to be shipped on the next boat, which they told us go every day then they changed this to every week, and its still sitting on the dock in London. We told them we didnt want storage for the simple reason we were assured it would be shipped straight away. We have rang them 3 times now only for them to tell us they will ring us back and they still haven't!!!:realmad: Really worried now as this happened to my parents a few years ago where their crate was sitting on the docks and it was opened and some of their things were pinched as well as making the crate non waterproof. All her things were mouldy, wet and broken! Be very careful!
Rinnesbird
Hi, I'm using Whites and they will be here in about an hour - I hope! I went with them for the same reason that someone else already stated. The rep was professional, polite, knew his stuff. I felt at ease asking the questions I did whereas others made me feel a bit daft! However, since I agreed to the contract it's me thats been doing the chasing and reminding. My move has all happened very quickly. From getting quotes to packing up has been 4 weeks. I was phoning them last week asking if they were moving me this week! I also had a run in with one of the secretaries when I asked to speak to the rep who had initially come to the house. I get the feeling they were interested in getting the business but the follow up has been not the best. I am hoping that everything works out now. Another thing is that at the other end of the shipment when it arrives in Oz, it's not Whites that deal with it, it will be a local company. I think this is beginning to play on my mind. If I had gone with Crowne it would be Crowne that I dealt with all the way through. I'm sure everything will be fine..............but watch this space. Chardy
I'm interested too as Whites are coming to quote on Monday - I chose them because they are local to me so I can walk in the office and give them hell if there are any problems !
NowPerth
We used them and thought they were superb. The rep was very good, the price was the best we had. The packers were really careful and helpful, polite and friendly. We got dates upfront for when it would be packed and shipped, which ship would it be booked on etc so we'd know in advance. The customs clearing here was good even though it was over the Chrismas/New Year holidays. There was no problem either with the company that unpacked and moved us in at this end. Good luck with your move.

thepallis
Hi we too used White & Co, they were the best by far from all who I had out to quote. Pam in their Knaresborough office was amazing as were the guys who cane to pack us up. They walked me through the house and if I didn't want it packed it wasn't packed. Our container is due to land on 28/08/12 so cannot comment on this end yet but will keep you posted. PS Loving It Here. xxx

When i rang they said my stuff is sitting in their depot at london waiting for someone to take up the extra 220 cubic feet of groupage before they are sent. your post has got me thinking now! the difference was only £500 to use the balance and get it all sent now......might have to visit that possibility. Stovies
House all packed up now! White & Company were excellent! I was completely stressed before they arrived, I had been up since 5.30, panicking about everything (my husband is already in Aus with work so it's all been left to me!)....if I could send myself back to the future, I would have read this and not have let myself get so worried. The moment the guys arrived, I relaxed. They took over, made me sit outside with a coffee (luckily it was the day Scotland had it's summer) and they just bashed on with the job. Today, they finished off and loaded the container. I made sure they had plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and Irn Bru and left them to it. I came and went as I pleased (leaving my mobile no) and I do not have one complaint about the whole two day process. Not one.

Guest NatsB
Whites were lovely on the phone and when they came round. But they never came back to us with a quote... I followed up once, and still nothing despite an email promising to follow up. After that I didn't want to deal with a company that was so unreliable before even getting our custom. Onmywayhome
We used them too - they were the cheapest of a bunch of quotes and we found them great to deal with - always got a fast response to queries etc. The guys who came to pack were excellent, very efficient and very nice. So we're happy so far but our stuff is currently en route, due in a few weeks, so fingers crossed it all turns up OK.
Guest Kennypennycook
My wife and I moved out in May (West Lothian - Aspendale, Vic). We too used Whites, the person who came to measure up was great, seemed genuine etc. The removal guys were very professional too. It's true from a previous post, it is a different company that deals with your furniture in Oz. The guys in Oz remarked on the packaging Whites used to wrap our furniture stating that it was very good compared to others they had seen. They seem to double/triple wrap everything... Whereas other companies (they never said who), they had dealt with from UK, would only put a single wrap around peoples furniture. Would i use Whites again, definitely. Got to agree with another post re calling them up, the first couple of times, they seemed a bit indifferent, however after a while they were fine. Nothing a 'wee' course in customer service wouldn't help.
